Go Back to Overview

Areas Covered:

Centred on Thurso, but may also mention Edinburgh and Machrihanish in the recommendation area.

Double overhead on Saturday for the North Coast with strong cross-shore / cross-offshore winds, Sunday will see the swell drop to simply well over head with now moderate cross-offshore winds. The East Coast will get wrap-around swell from the North Coast throughout, and be 5-7ft on Saturday with strong force 5-7 cross-offshore South Westerly winds. Sunday will see the winds remain cross-offshore and still very strong still from the South West, the swell will drop to only about head high. The West Coast will be well overhead throughout in the 5-7ft range, winds will be South Westerly throughout force 6-8 on Saturday and maybe even stronger on Sunday in the force 7-9 range. So there’s surf everywhere the key will be finding shelter from the winds, cliffs, points and wrap-around spots are the call. The West Coast looks good and big, as does the North Coast, the smallest of the three will be the East Coast and for that neck of the woods either North facing or South Eastern facing spots are your best call. Oh and some snow may come along! Have fun play safe…....

Swell: 9-11ft Wind: WSW force 4-6 plus

Swell: 5-7ft Wind: SSW force 3-5
