Areas Covered:

Centred on Thurso, but may also mention Edinburgh and Machrihanish in the recommendation area.

Triple overhead on Saturday for the North Coast with extremely strong cross-offshore winds. Sunday will see the swell drop marginally, partly as it was all blown to hell on Saturday. But it will still be well overhead, but by Sunday the winds will go strong cross-shore / cross-onshore, so spots sheltered from North Westerlies / East facing spots will be the call. The East Coast will get lots of wrap-around swell from the North Coast on Saturday, being well overhead and clean for most spots. But by Sunday the continued winds, albeit now from the North West will keep a lot of swell it from getting in, thus seeing a drop to about shoulder high. The West Coast will be head high plus on Saturday, but with strong cross-onshore South Westerly winds. Sunday will see the swell remain head high, but the winds will switch to cross-onshore from the North West. So the North Coast and far North East look like the best bet, spots that get shelter from the winds are your best bet. The West Coast will also have swell, but due to the winds wrap-around spots are you’re only hope. So hunt and find shelter and you should find = good luck……….
